La Política Monetaria Óptima a Propósito de los Modelos BMW y Walsh

Resumen

Revisamos críticamente dos modelos nuevos keynesianos ampliamente citados: el modelo BMW con expectativas racionales y banco central creíble y el modelo dinámico de Walsh, de expectativas estáticas y banco central cuasicreíble. La revisión se enfoca a: la caracterización el equilibrio, el papel de la expectativa de inflación, aunado a la credibilidad del banco central, y la
valoración de los choques exógenos sobre la economía y el rol de la política
monetaria óptima. Los resultados muestran que los mismos choques exógenos generan diferentes consecuencias dependiendo del horizonte temporal. Asimismo, mostramos que ambos paradigmas son idénticos en el largo plazo.
