La paridad del poder de compra - Una revisión crítica

Resumen

En este artículo se hace una revisión de la literatura sobre la paridad del poder decompra (PPC) internacional. Una de las posibles explicaciones del no cumplimientode la PPC es el efecto Harrod-Balassa-Samuelson y la presencia de cambiosestructurales en las economías, que se reflejan en las variables económicas como eltipo de cambio real. Los resultados de la revisión de la literatura revelan que se hamejorado los resultados a favor de la PPC, utilizando los avances econométricoscon la metodología de datos panel y la incorporación de cambios estructurales. Sinembrago, los resultados aún siguen siendo no concluyentes.
