Focus and scope
The Nicolaita Journal of Economic Studies is a refereed academic publication, with original research articles of high theoretical and methodological rigor, which promote the generation of knowledge and the discussion of current paradigms in the areas of economic and social sciences. The main topics of interest are located in the following branches: macroeconomics, microeconomics, international economics, economics of technological change, regional economics, economic history and environmental economics.
Open access policy
This journal provides open access to its content, based on the principle that offering the public free access to research contributes to greater global exchange of knowledge.

Magazine history
The Nicolaita Journal of Economic Studies is a refereed academic publication, with original research articles of high theoretical and methodological rigor, which promote the generation of knowledge and the discussion of current paradigms in the areas of economic and social sciences.
The magazine has been edited since 2007 by the Institute of Economic and Business Research of the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo and all articles are subject to strict arbitration. The accepted articles are listed in: Latin American Citations in Social Sciences and Humanities (CLASE), Regional System for Scientific Journals of Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain and Portugal (Latindex), EconPapers (RePEc), IDEAS (RePEc) and EconomistsOnline.
The academic project of the Journal responds to the need to have an editorial space for academic exchange and discussion in the field of economic science. It is a scientific journal with an emphasis on research, with the objective of promoting the generation of knowledge and discussion of the current paradigms of economic science. The Journal is disseminated internationally through the respective indexes, which include a summary in English and Spanish of each of the articles that are published. The magazine is biannual, with international reach and a circulation of 500 copies per issue.
Ethical Standards
1. Authors undertake to submit for consideration by the Revista Nicolaita de Estudios Económicos only those works that they have prepared with high scientific rigor and to provide in their manuscripts sufficient information to allow readers to make proper use of them. Accuracy and objectivity are highly appreciated in the process of selecting works.
2. Reviewers may request, through the Editor, the data used by the authors in order to corroborate the results that are intended to be published.
3. It is the responsibility of the authors to ensure that they do not incur in plagiarism practices (in all its forms and denominations) before submitting their works for review.
4. Works that are submitted for review by the Revista Nicolaita should not be submitted simultaneously for consideration by another journal.
5. The only people who may appear as authors of a manuscript will be those who have made a relevant contribution to it. Other contributors who have participated in the manuscript, but to a degree that may be considered insignificant, should appear in a section called Acknowledgements.
6. Authors must ensure that the citations to the sources used in the manuscript are complete and comply with the established format.
7. Authors undertake to respond to the Editor's requests in the agreed time and manner.
8. Authors will comply with the reviewers' recommendations in the time and manner requested, except in those cases in which the Editor explicitly justifies non-compliance with a recommendation.
9. If the authors detect any serious error or omission in the manuscript, they must immediately inform the Editor so that the situation can be addressed.
Double-blind review
All documents submitted to the Nicolaita Journal of Economic Studies for possible publication will be subject to double-blind peer review by specialists in the topics of the document, in addition to a pre-evaluation by the journal's Editorial Committee.
