Abstract

Competitive advantage is gained when something different is done within the organization’s traditional process or service, giving it an exponential edge over the competition. This can be achieved through price, operating methods, supply chain, attributes of the product and other factors. The objective of this research is to identify and analyze the factors that generate competitive advantages in the aerospace industry located in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico. The theoretical foundations are based on the Resource-Based View persective, the Competitive Advantage theory, and the Positioning perspective. The methodology implemented is a statistical analysis conducted using SPSS software, with data obtained from Likert-scale surveys administered to managers of companies in this industry. The results highlight that strategic alliances, knowledge, research and development (R&D), quality, and cost are important factors that companies use to generate competitive advantages in Chihuahua’s aerospace industry.
